Instructors


Sifu Ken Low received his training in Kung Fu at an early age, under his father, Jack Low, who was a Hung Gar Stylist. Subsequently Sifu Ken Low had opportunities to study the Kung Fu Styles of Bak Sing Choy Lee Fut, Dragon Sign, Northern Shaolin My Jong Law Hon, and Modern Wushu under many world-renown masters.

Sifu Ken Low is also a qualified Health Qigong Instructor. He studied the Art of Health Qigong from many Health Qigong Masters of Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan from The People’s Republic of China.

Academically Sifu Ken Low graduated from the University of B.C. with 2 degrees:

  • Bachelor of Sciences, majored in Mathematics
  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences, majored in Civil Engineering

As an achiever in both academics and Martial Arts, Sifu Ken Low fully understands and emphasizes the importance of education. Aside from physical skills and techniques, he also teaches his students the virtues of respect, focus, virtue, honesty and humbleness.

Achievements

  • 38 years of teaching experience in Chinese Wushu/Kung Fu and Health Qigong
  • Recognized as a 10th Degree Master Instructor by the World Kung Fu Grading System in 2013
  • Registered as a 9th Degree Master Instructor by the Confederation of Canadian Wushu Organizations in 2003
  • Certified Health Qigong Instructor by the Chinese Qigong Association, of Beijing, China
  • Elected as Canada’s Representative as one of the twenty-one (21) Directors in the newly founded International Qigong Federation that 86 representatives from 33 countries attended
  • Chief Instructor of the Ken Low’s Shaolin Kung Fu Institute
  • Former Instructor of the Vancouver Police Department Lion Dance Team
  • Rated as one of the top 10 National Canadian Martial Arts Competitor 1981 – 1985 by the Karate Illustrated magazine
  • Winner of over 100 trophies in open Martial Arts Tournaments
  • Promoter of the annual “West Coast Can-Am Championships” (the 34th Annual was hosted on May 3, 4 and 5, 2013. at the Richmond Olympic Oval), the longest running and one of the most prestigious tournaments in western North America
  • Produced many champion students who won 1st place awards at international, national and regional tournaments
  • Hosted the 4th International Health Qigong Tournament and Exchange at the University of B.C., where over 300 competitors from 25 countries competed
